Our Primary programs are designed to offer students a general introduction to the sport and environmental practices that are important to us to ensuring that our rivers, lakes and oceans remain in balance and healthy to paddle on.

All sessions are designed with the Curriculum Council’s K-10 Outcomes in mind.

Program Options

We have 3 options available to primary school students:

After-school sport

Commencing Term 1, 2009, students from the age of 10 will be able to join us for a term long paddling introduction program. The program will introduce students to the sport of paddling in our fleet of “Guppy” kayaks.

Groups will be limited to 8 and will teach the students the importance of having fun in their sport, and the importance of respect in their everyday lives.

The kayaks are miniaturised kayaks similar to those used by our Olympic paddlers.

Sessions run over Term 1 and 4 of the school year and as a holiday program in the Summer and Easter school holidays.

Please email us to register your interest now.

River Care and Conservation

Commencing mid-2009, primary school students will be able to learn more about the river environment and what they can do to take care of it.

The program is designed around the Curriculum Council Outcomes K-7 and offers and range of activities across a number of subject areas. The activities will allow students to build an appreciation for the natural environment and allow students to establish relationships between what they learn in the classroom and at home, at what occurs in the environment.

The Program will supported by an activity workbook that students will progress through.

Please register your interest with us should you want your school to be included in the program.

In-class Presentations

We are also happy to assist in providing in-class presentations of our sport and on the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle. All of presenters are current or past WA representatives with a number having attained Australian Team selection in a range of disciplines.

Our presenters provide outstanding role models and true ambassadors of a healthy, active lifestyle. We trust that they will both inform and inspire your students.
